How is Bentonite Powder Manufactured?

The manufacturing process of Bentonite Powder starts from mining and ends with fine powder packaging. Here is a simple, easy-to-understand process:

Manufacturing Process

1. Mining

Bentonite is first mined from natural deposits found underground. Large machines dig out the raw Bentonite clay from the earth.

2. Drying

The raw Bentonite contains moisture, so it is spread out and dried under the sun or in large industrial dryers to reduce moisture content.

3. Crushing

After drying, the hard clay lumps are broken down into smaller pieces using crushers.

4. Grinding / Milling

These small pieces are then finely ground in a mill to make a smooth powder. The powder is graded based on particle size (mesh size).

5. Purification & Activation

In some cases, Sodium carbonate or chemicals are added to increase swelling capacity and purity, especially in the production of Sodium Bentonite.

6. Quality Testing

The powder is tested for swelling, moisture, purity, pH, and strength to ensure industrial standards.

7. Packaging

Finally, the Bentonite Powder is packed in bags (25kg, 50kg, Jumbo bags) and sent to industries.

Bentonite Powder is made through processes like mining, drying, crushing, grinding, purification, and packaging. Each step ensures the clay becomes high-quality and ready for industrial use.
